Uniblue RegistryBooster 2011 Review

RegistryBoosterFind out how good RegistryBooster is, whether the software is safe, what features it has, how much it costs and where you can download it, in my RegistryBooster review...

Product description

What is Uniblue RegistryBooster? It’s software designed to clean and repair invalid and problematic entries in the Windows registry (a part of the operating system used to run programs, store user settings, etc.). This helps improve performance and reduce system errors and crashes.

Product Research

I put Uniblue’s Windows RegistryBooster (though we were actually running the 2012 version - sometimes called Registry Booster 2) to the test on an 4-year old PC that’s been updated with Windows 7 about a year ago. Naturally, with regular use this PC’s performance has slowed considerably and although not completely unstable, it does crash on occasion. I detailed my experience in the review below.

The installation process and initial scan certainly wasn’t blazing fast, with the entire process taking just over 10 minutes. Now keep in mind though that this computer was running slower (hence the need for a registry cleaning). Also, the fact that the scanning process took a few minutes indicates that it does a thorough scan as it goes through each individual entry in the Windows registry.

The scan covers three error types, ‘System Related’ errors which identifies errors which affect all users, ‘User Related’ which identifies errors related to specific account settings for each user, and ‘Third Party Related’ which identifies errors caused by programs that have been installed on your computer.

Our scan identified 284 System Related errors, 107 User Related and 0 Third Party Related, for a grand total of 391 errors. No wonder our test-PC was not performing its best!

RegistryBooster assigns an easy to understand “damage level” to give you an idea of the state of your computer with a quick glance.

The report also offers you the RegistryBooster Reviewoption to see a more detailed list of all the errors for the more technically inclined. For the average user though, it may look like a mess of meaningless technical info. Either way, looking at this info is optional, much like how running your antivirus does not require you to know the name and function of each threat detected!

The free version of Uniblue RegistryBooster allows you to run the full system scan for free (giving you a good sense of how cluttered your system’s registry is), and it also allows you to fix up to 15 errors. So if your PC is not seriously affected, this may well be enough.

If the errors are more serious and numerous, I recommend registering the full version. The price, especially when compared to the cost of having a professional do essentially the same thing, is negligible. It’s currently $10 off, costing you only $29.95; not bad for a much quicker and smoother-running system!

This also includes free updates, ensuring your version of RegistryBooster is also effective, and compatible with Windows updates, new software, and so on.

And of course, functions such as automatic backups, auto-scanning, scheduled scan, and support in case you need help, are  included.

Bottom Line: Uniblue RegistryBooster is built to do one thing: tackle the most common cause of computer instability and performance issues quickly and easily. And it delivers. And it’s safe to use for any version of Windows, which isn’t surprising considering Uniblue (the company behind RegistryBooster) is a Microsoft Certified Partner. Sure, it doesn’t have a million bells and whistles but what’s important is it does what it says. And considering it lets you scan your computer and even fix some errors for free, you can’t go wrong!

You can download RegistryBooster here and start scanning your PC for errors right away.
